Mark Bruinooge is the Charlotte-based Chief Investment Officer of Watermark Capital, where he has led the 2040 Fund since 2014, investing private and public capital on behalf of the 2040 Foundation and its founder Jay Faison across water systems and technology, the future of food, and the energy transition. He serves on the boards of First Street, Upwell Water and residential solar company PosiGen, is a founding investor and board member of DeltaTerra Investments, and sits on the Board of Visitors of the UNC Institute for the Environment. A Lafayette College graduate, he previously co-founded and led the New York startup Tykoon, co-founded Seismic, and held investment roles at Bank of America, Hambrecht & Quist and Brown Brothers Harriman.
